Got Dish cards in the mail what for?

Given the pace of the new smart card roll out, Dish will be on the next round of smart cards before I get mine.

Charlie said in the earning transcript that they will finish up card changeout about 1 year from now but select areas will be encrypted in near future. He gave HD customers as example of first areas to have new encryption.
