Got new Sony AM/FM receiver with TomTom GPS and have question...

First off, if this thread is in the wrong area, please redirect it...

So, I ordered a Sony XAV-602BT on Crutchfield and I already have it installed in my car, but I want GPS, so I bought the add-on Sony XA-NV300T on eBay today (which has TomTom). When I have it installed I am wondering something about it. Do you have to pay for their services? Or is it free? Or is there a free version and a paid version? Thanks ahead.

I don't know about Sony, but TomTom has historialy had a map pre-installed and over the years, the owner pays for the map upgrade. Other than that, no subscription.
