H20 receiver acting odd

I need some advice from the Pros in the forum.



I have a H20 receiver that has two odd thing happen in the last 2 weeks.

1) Seems that the 5.1 digital sound no longer works on my surround sound system when on HD channel with 5.1, it use to. (DVD moves work great and I have check all connections)

2)When changing from SD channels to HD channels it searches for satellite signal for 3 to 5 seconds every time I change channels.

Is this normal. I have had this receiver for 2 months.

Do you have it setup for native resolution? Also, make sure the show you are watching is in DD 5.1. They may have did an update that switched you back to normal audio instead of dolby digital so check that. I have mine setup for 1080i so I do not get that delay each time you switch a channel from SD to HD. Hope this helps.

bases1616, thanks for your input. Directv forced a software update over the weekend and I had to reset the audio, native resolution at 1080i.

I'm going to try and force Directv in swapping out the receiver. I was hoping someone in the forum had a problem with sound part of there H20 receiver so I new that could be the problem.
