Still getting random 771 errors when changing channels. AM21 power light stays on after turning off H23-600. Once 771 error pops up, changing to any other channel results in 771. Reset reverts to channel 102. (DTV Basics channel)

I've had some trouble getting my H21's to see the DVR for MRV. After a couple rounds of restarting and waiting a day... my two H21's can finally see my HR22-100. My HR22 also has the latest CE on it from this weekend.

Also, I found it's better just to manually enter the network information rather then rely on your router to give the receivers IPs.

I actually did that from the start, i put all my boxes in dmz's, but what i have found out from installing homeplugs in the field, is that if you connect everything to the router, and then restart the box (before you attempt setup) then it will pull a correct ip rather than 169 after the restart, which makes sence since we cant do release renews. so I would give that a shot as well.

Been running the H23 with MRV since Friday. Here is my feedback.

  • Setup for MRV was a snap. Network no issues, seeing both HR20-700, HR20-100 no problem.
  • Video quality on Live channels good.
  • Channel response time and menu navigation good.
  • Video playback has hiccups. Not a ton but several per show. It kinda pixelates and/or goes blank for a second. Video quality is good.
  • Trick play needs a ton of work. You are fast forwarding or rewinding blind. The picture disappears. If its showing the moving video, when you stop, its not the same spot that you were viewing. Slip ahead and jump back is choppy.

I think this has tons of potential and Directv has done a great job. The trick play needs primary focus to release this to "normal" users.

I've noticed that the unit keeps turning on in the middle of the night. I'm not sure what time, but its off when I go to bed, and then on again when I get up in the morning.
