Hard Drive Playback Freezes.........

Anyone else having this problem? Since the beginning of July, anything I record and playback freezes. When watching, picture and sound freezes. After a few seconds it will start back up and then freeze again. over and over again

Got any suggestions?

Your hard drive is failing. You need to get it replaced.. Had this happen a while back.. Tried every thing (reformats, etc) and nothing helped.

Did you do a restart/reset to see if that helps?

Yes, I have pushed the red button a few times. Does not seem 2 help. Not looking forward to losing all of my stored shows!

How are your signal levels? If you rewind, are the freezes in the same places each time?

Signal seems to be great. Live broadcast works fine.

I believe where it freezes is very inconsistent.

I would say your choices are installing external eSATA drive or call DirecTv.

If you have protection plan on account or unit is within warranty, DirecTv will replace it. If no protection plan on account, I would still call DirecTv because they deal on an individual account basis.

And there are other internal hard drive options to consider as well, if so inclined...
