But if you are lacking LOS due to a hill, consider a remote repeater.
I've seen it done. Won't recommend a passive one, though it might work, too. - :up

Was thinking about a solar powered low power wi-fi repeater on that hill you can't see over.
Might bring wi-fi to your whole valley. -

I done five hops to get broadband to my house. It is possible if you want it bad enough. I could have put up a tower and got it done with just a few hops but there was no electricity at the site. 900 mhz is nice for NLOS (non line of site).

Well, the broadband company would be the one to add a repeater, and so far is not interested. As far as sharing with neighbors --- neither the cows nor the coyotes are interesterd!

Go to Google Search, and type in Primestar Dish, there is a site that show how to use the Oval primestar dish for Wi Fi.
