Hd-dvd Continuing Problems!

I have had two XA1 players since 6/06.

I bought them from Crutchfield.

The first XA1 locked up and would not eject discs!

The 2nd XA1 continues to LOCK UP at approx 100 minutes into any
HD DVD title.

Both my units were made in 2/06.

I am running 2.0 in my current player and update via internet connection.

I just tried playing "BATMAN BEGINS" from AMAZON.COM and it
GETS stuck at 100 minutes in !!

I cannot reset the player and I have to turn it off and on to get the disc out!

I have unplugged it for hours at a time and time and I still have problems.

I have just spent 3 hours trying to get through "BATMAN BEGINS" ..

Is ANYONE having problems like this out there >?

I am sick and tired of seeing wonderfull reviews of player/ title performance
on this forum.

Toshiba TECH HELP keeps telling me to unplug the unit for hours at a time.

This does not help!

feel for ya man

crappy deal ! when a guy puts that much money into something it better freakin work.i can see 1 bad unit, but 2!!come on now.i would not have that much tolerance.it would have been smashed up and i would go back to the vcr!!!im waitin for a drastic price reduction in hd dvd.i have no solution.im sure youve googled it already, but ill have a look too.sorry man.

It sounds as though you are getting a thermal failure.

If you have a laptop fan/cooler. Try setting it underneath the HD-XA1 and see if that changes things.
