'Santa' brought me a 40" LCD for x-mas and yesterday Dish came out and installed the required equipment (2nd dish / 622). Good thing I was there because i'm sure the tech would have done a hack job if I wasn't. I had to continually ask him to clean of cable runs and not to mount the dish where anyone w/o a ladder could get to.
So far I like the HD channels and are much better than what I used to watch on my old 35" CRT. But I don't think they are as nice as what FIOS TV can offer. My GF's uncle has FIOS and it just seems like the picture is much better. We are both running Sony LCDs (His is 37"). I'm guessing the difference is from the compression.
Hopefully next year Verizon will be offering the NHL Center Ice ticket because thats one of the two reasons I stayed with Dish. The other being that I refuse to use Adelphia/Comcast.
