I don't understand. Why don't the HD-Lite providers provide true HD? Wouldn't that be a tremendous selling point?

No, because a lot of people like retorq don't care. And as long as a lot of customers are happy with HD-crap, then it saves E* and D* a lot of money on satellite transponders.

Thanks for the good news. We (the customers) deserve true HD video as identified by international industry standards.

Furthermore, we should not allow Echostar to force us into choosing between receiving more HD-Lite channels, and a lesser number of full fidelity High Definition channels .
