HD Receiver that is controlled by IR and RF signals

Does anyone know if there is a HD receiver that can be controlled by both a RF and IR signal. I want to use the RF signal in a different room and the IR signal (a universal remote) when I am in the same room where the receiver is. Does the Hughes HIRD-E86 work this way?
