I bought the "HDTV in a box" promotion with the 811 receiver and the flat screen monitor (not the projection monitor). Has anybody else that bought this package ever had their monitor calibrated by an ISF certified techincian? I'm in Atlanta and I'm looking for someone to calibrate my monitor, but I don't know who to call since the monitor only says "Dish" and not "RCA", "Sony", or whatever.

Do you have the 34 inch CRT or one of the LCD displays?
If so set brightness to 25-30 percent level for darker blacks
and set contrast to 70-80 percent for brighter whites.

Do you have HDNet (channel 9422)? If so tune in on any
Tuesday at 8AM for the test patterns. This will display
resolution, overscan and convergence so that you will have
a idea about your display's performance.

If you still want an ISF technician try this web site.

PS: The brightness/contrast adjustment was intended for the CRT.
I have the 921 and 34 inch monitor. I believe the Dishnetwork CRT
is really made by RCA.

Calibration

Just get a calibration disc such as Avia, Digital Video Essentials and do it yourself.
