This is an eastern arc dish, I believe a 1000.2. Can anyone confirm? Also, can I replace the LNB and convert it to a western arc?

1000.2 Eastern Arc which is missing 2 bolts from the skew plate. Yes, you can convert it but you need a western Arc LNB

So if I have this correct, the 1000.2 EA and WA dishes are identical other then the LNB?

Is it true that the 1000.4 EA and WA dishes are different and cannot be converted between EA and WA?

is 1000.2 the one being used on new installs?

1000.2 EA and WA dishes are the same.

1000.4 dishes can be used on either arc depending on the LNB.

Yes, 1000.2 dishes are used on new installs.

Depending on the skew for the dish you can't always use all 4 bolts on the plate. We were never able to use them here when I was installing.

We can't use the other 2 bolts on EA installs here either.

Yeah, it was the same back home, skew was 81, but in this pic, you can see the bolt holes

So does one of them get better signal then, as it’s larger reflector?
No, actually, on a .4 Eastern Arc, I can never get all 3 sats dialed in properly. The only thing a larger reflector does is improve rain fade but in this case, it's only slightly larger

Yeah, I read that 1000.4 which has larger reflector isn’t compatible with hopper 3 as hybrid LNB only is for 1000.2

You can use a Hopper 3 and a 1000.4 dish but you also need a DPH42 switch.

I've always gotten slightly better numbers on eastern arc from a 1000.2 than a 1000.4.
