I read the post on what are the 9000 channels. Right now at this location 9292 is NBC, if I move locations will 9292 still be NBC at the new zip code?

The 9000 series are to be avoided. They represent TV stations that are remapped to the appropriate channel number for the market you subscribe to.

9292 is the actual satellite channel, then it is mapped down to 40 for your DMA. If you move out of the Tallahassee, FL DMA then NBC will move as well.

Dish carries all the locals for all the markets around the country at the same time. They programmed the receivers to give the "OTA" channel number as a convenance instead of having to use the obscure actual number.
