Hi .I am using a dish 1000 for 110 119 and 129 i have 2 vip622 dvrs. I also have an old dish 500 and would like to use it for 61.5 for local hd channels. Will this work and if so how? Thanks for any help.

If it's a 1000.2 with the single unit LNB, you only need to aim the 500 at 61.5 and connect it to the LNB IN port on the 1000.2 LNB. If you have the older Dish 1000 with two LNBs (one large, one small), you need to disconnect the small one from the large one at the LNB IN port and connect your other dish instead. Then run check switch on both receivers (MENU 6,1,1). Just make sure your regional sport network isn't on 129.

Thanks for the helpso far. With the dish 500 do i need to redo the skew to 90 degrees as im only aiming at one satellite?

Technically, it doesn't matter. However, from a perspective of making it easier to aim, yes, it is much easier to aim with the skew at 90 as that will make the other settings correct.
