Help with hookup

I want to hookup my tivo series 2 to my TV that has the Direct tv standard receiver which I think is a d10. I'm having problems getting it to work. The tivo can't change the chanel on the direct tv. any help would be great. I know get the direct tv/tivo and I already have one on the other tv but I don't want the series 2 to go to waste. Thanks for your help. Is there a link to this hookup? What brand is the D10?

Do you have IR remote wires? One sould be placed over the IR on D-10. The other end plugs into the back of the Tivo.
