I'm a bit confused, why do I have two sets of channels available for program? One set 0 to about 500, and another set in the 9,000 range? Sunday the AMC network was removed from somewhere around 130, my timer did not work but I was able to find and tape somewhere in the 9000's.

Is it a different satalite? if so, I am in Minneapolis,... which channel set should I use for best reception.

Always wondered,
Mike

normally you would use the "lower" or the remapped channel.
I assume you have HD so I'll try and explain it...
as an example ESPN SD is channel 140.
the HD version is 9XXX but remaps to 140 so if you have a HD receiver ESPN is where most folks know where it is

Now there is a big conundrum about Dish dropping AMC and a couple other channels so that is why dish moved it to the 9000 area and didnt remap it

Big article on Dish possibly dropping AMC

Thanks Iceberg,
Yes I have always used the lower channels until I needed to search for AMC to see the season finale of Mad Men.
Sounds like my normal program selection from the lower register is the right thing to do.
