I am new to this, can someone pls help. I have a tech coming tmr to add a 2nd 622 receiver. The 622 receiver thats in the living room is hooked up to my linksys wireless router with a Cat5 cable, coz they both next to each other. But for my 2nd 622, what do I need to get so I can setup the home plugs. How many of these home plug I need to get and anybody know what home plug is good..

Rusty,

If you choose to go home plug, you need 1 adapter (ethernet connection) and that will plug into a wall outlet and via Cat5 to the linksys router. Both 622s could then connect to the router through the home plug adapter, as I understand. Also, since the 622s have the DishCOMM feature, they should be able to communicate with each other and since 1 is connected to the ethernet already, I believe they both will be considered connected, and you wouldn't need to use the home plug at all. DishCOMM is somewhat sensitive to power strips and UPS' that filter out signal, more sensitive than home plug. I bought a Belkin home plug adapter off e-bay for under $20 including shipping. I'm thinking of getting a second one so I can connect my work computer (no wireless) in my bedroom.

Go into the menu of the receiver and go to the DishComm feature. The two 622s should see each other. To verify afterwards, go into MENU 6,3 on the remote 622 and hit send status and if it is successful, you're good to go.

EDIT: Wanted to clarify, he shouldn't have to get a homeplug adapter or even connect the new box via cat5.
