Homeplug Broadband Setup

I've got 5 Netgear XE102s and only one location at the other end of the house wouldn't work for my Slingbox, had to run a long ethernet cable to a different outlet location. That was strange because I have a 622 in the same room that worked fine just plugged into the wall. It wouldn't work through the surge protector though but my 722 does. Go figger........

tarq476, For the homeplug adapter to work, both devices have to be on the same "power leg". If the 2 AC outlets are on different circuits, the homeplug adapters will not be able to find each other. Try Bob Haller's suggestion to see if your device works. If it works when plugged in to the same outlet, then most likely the 2 AC outlets that you are trying to use are on different circuits.

Not true, they do not have to be on the same circuit. There can't be a step-down transformer between the two outlets, The signal travels through the neutral conductor

Check outlet for proper POLARITY a reversed hot neutral might effect homeplug and is a definite safety hazard.
