Hook up 6000 to VGA monitor?

Is there any problems doing this? I don't have an HDTV yet and I want to make sure it's okay (if anyone has tried it). My 19" Panasonic monitor has RGBHV BNC inputs also so I can use that but why buy an extra cable?
