Hello all, once again I wish to pick your brains.

What I have: A Dish 500 w/ DPP Quad LNB, receivers: one 522, one 510 and one 508. I am replacing the 508 with a 625.

My question: I was told I could disconnect the 508, use the supplied "splitter" that comes with the 625, and only need 1 feed from the sat dish. Is this correct?

I have 2 feeds for the 522, one for the 510 and one for the 508.

If I have been mislead, what do I need to do? Someone said something about installing a switch. What kind?

Thanks again to all who help! Fred

you have a DishPro quad. There is no such thing as a DPP (Dish Pro Plus) quad

no you cannot use the separator on the 625 with a DP Quad. You would need to upgrade and there are 2 ways to do it

easier would be to get a DPP44 switch. You would run 2 lines from the LNB (DP Quad) to the DPP44 switch. Then you would only need 3 lines to the receivers
-one line ot the 522 and use the sparator
-one ine to the 625 and use the separator
-one line to the 508

The more difficult way is to get a DP34 switch. Hook two lines from the LNB to the DP34 switch. Then you would have 6 outputs (2 on the DPQuad and 4 on the switch). You would need 2 lines to the 522, 2 to the 625 and one to the 508

Iceberg,

I have 4 lines from the lnb. Can I leave 2 running to the 522, then put the other 2 on the DPP44 switch to run the rest? Or if I use the switch does everything have to run through it? The difference is I have 2 feeds that go into the basement for the 508 & 510, and 2 feeds in the attic for the 522. If all I have to do is put the switch on the basement feeds, that"ll be alot easier then going on the roof. Thanks for your help! Fred
