I've been trying to hook up my DVR-625 to a Yamaha HTR-6140 Home Theater Receiver. I'm just trying to go composite from the DVR to Yamaha and the Yamaha has a HDMI connection to the TV. This works fine for my other devices but the DVR will only give me audio and no video, the only way I've been able to get video is to plug the video aspect straight into the TV under a different input.

I had thought it would be really simple but I'm just completely stumped here .

Thanks for reading and for any advice you may be able to give :)

Assuming that the composite output on your 625 is working, it would be a Yamaha problem rather than a Dish problem. The Dish receiver can't tell what's connected to an analog output.

Yamaha receivers have to be connected HDMI all the way or component all the way. Composite in and HDMI out will not work. Composite is not HD. Read your Yamaha manual.
