Hopper Remote

Recently my remote has started acting funny. Sometimes when I push a button, I get no response from the Hopper. I look at the remote and all four top buttons (SAT, TV, DVD, and AUX) are blinking on and off in sequence. When this stops I try again, sometimes the remote works, but sometimes I have to try again two or three times to get the remote to start working again. Batteries are fine and I have unpaired and paired my remote. No change. Any ideas?

Every day the last button I push is the Sat button and every time I get the floating banner telling me if I want to operate the sat receiver I must push the sat button. Sometimes I have to push it 6 or 7 times before it takes.

When the lights flash like that it usually means the batteries are low. If you are positive the batteries are fine it's possible you have a bad remote. Contact DIRT and see if they could possibly replace it if it still continues to act up.

Although I have no real proof, I believe it is connected to the last couple of software updates. My remote response has dropped considerably during the past few weeks also.

This is not the Hopper responding slowly to the remote. This is the remote not working at all while the four top buttons blink on and off in sequence. When the buttons stop blinking, I try again. Sometimes the remote starts working again, but sometimes I have to wait while this happens two or three times and then everything is back to normal. The Hopper responding slowly and acting as though many, many things are going on in the background is another problem that I also have.

Is your remote in Limited Mode by chance?

How does one know the answer to this question ? And which mode is best ? This is coming from someone who didnt even know there was more than one mode.....

To control the your TV inputs and manage its' menus, for example, Limited Mode should be disabled. If enabled, only power and volume can be controled.

Go to settings, remote manager and you can disable limited mode which only enables the volume and power buttons when the remote is in TV mode.

I think Disabled mode is the one most folks use. Press Yellow - 6 buttons on your remote control, scroll down and select Limited Mode then select Disabled then Save and Save again.

Disabled limited mode. Still having the same problem. Like I said, I have had it in limited mode since I got Dish 1 1/2 years ago and I have had no problem until now.

It appears to be a bad remote. Call CSR and tell them about your issue. I bet they will send you a new one.
