Why do we have to start DVR recording before, and end it later than the start times of the programs to capture the whole program?
The shows all start and stop at normal times.
Just curious, why the difference in timing?
Is the Hopper timer off,or not?

This padding is necessary for some channels, because some channels do not start and stop on 30 min boundaries. The padding is adjustable on my VIP DVRs. I don't have a Hopper, but I imagine you can adjust it down to zero as well.

You can . Hit menu, settings, then Dvr Defaults , then Dvr timer defaults to adjust the timer to 0 if you want to. I have all my timers set for 0 early /0 late. That way I can adjust just the timers I do want to pad, without having all of my timers causing conflicts.

Satellite equivalent of cellular MVNO?
