How Do I Sell My Old 522 Receivers ?

I have 3/522's which I own, that were replaced with 722's . If I sell them on ebay do I remove the smart cards? Do I need to notify dish?

If you want to sell them don't remove the cards DISH will reauthorize those cards for a different owner. Also don't expect to get rich.

Thanks Boba. Yea I know they don't sell for much, it's actually more of a hassle to photo them,place the ads on ebay, pack them up and bring them over to UPS. I just can't bring myself to throw them in the trash if there are people out there that can use them.

I sold my 625 18 mo ago for $138 (including shipping) on Amazon. This is actually more than I paid for it. I sold my 501 at about the same time for $110 (shipping included), which is about what I paid for that one.

No, the 522 is a DUO DVR so the second receiver fee is $17.

As for eBay, looks like ~$50 is a common selling price for used 522 DVRs. A few went for less, like $25 or $31 ! Ouch !

Not much value. I'd toss them in the trash. In fact, I have 2 or 3 dish 500s and older LNBs that I'll have to be tossing.

Around here, they'd be left in the alley and the "scrappers" would take it within a day.
