How do you setup a VPN to a different US city and not a completely different country?

Okay I have ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE on VPNs. This is my first time. I want to set it up to start with to watch NYC locals and plan to change it frequently. I use Dashlane. Help?

Most VPN vendors have software and apps you download on the device you want to "relocate" on. For instance, I use Surfshark and it has an app for iPhone. You just open the app, choose a city, and you're set.

I use NordVPN on my various devices including my Firesticks, and like Surfshark Nord has apps for both iPhone and Android devices as well as PC's/Mac's. Surfshark does have servers in five more US cities than NordVPN though.

Could be... I don't recall needing more than two Nord connections at the same time so far, but I'll have to check that out. The three year deal I got from Nord was cheaper than Surf at the time, but that's nearing renewal time.

Ok, I looked it up and NordVPN allows 6 connections at the same time. More than enough for me, but may not be for others...

Looks a little expensive. I just signed up for Surfshark, so before I would sign up for ExpressVPN, are there any US cities on it that are not on Surfshark?

Interesting... The linked listings show multiple entries for Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, and New York, for a total of 24 entries, but just 13 unique locations.

Can anyone recommend a website of which I can use my VPN and get different locals while using just a free trial? I just want to experiment and I don't need it forever. I tried YouTube TV and canceled right away since it wouldn't work, and my other Google email won't let me use a free trial anymore due to me trying it a few years back. Locast doesn't seem to work either. I just want to experiment and I don't even need cloud DVR service.
