I was watching TV last night and a D* add came on. In the add they stated that D* is the only provider with "True 1080p", there was no fine print or explanation about it being only on PPV or OnDemand. How do they get away with that.

Ridiculous. While it is true, they are the first to bring satellite-delivered linear 1080p programming, all that is available is PPV, in fact the same PPV that can be delivered on demand.

Of course, they have been misleading for years, bragging about channel CAPACITY, and counting loads of PPV and RSNs as channels.

They lie as much as they can to get new customers.... They are a very greedy company. Not to mention that DISH was the first to offer 1080p VOD.

At least they don't count "Game-only" RSN's like DISH.

really? what 1080p "programming"? Some movies manipulated into inferrior satellite deliver rates is hardly real 1080p and hardly "programming". Its blantant misrepresentation by any provider to say it. IMO The only real 1080p out there comes on a bluRay disc.

We can argue about Dish and DirecTV's 1080p claims in another thread. To me, the bigger issue is DirecTV claiming Dish doesn't have anything it, while they do.

Exactly! Both companies are stretching-the-truth or misrepresenting the truth (aka pulling a Pinocchio) with their false and misleading HD claims.
