How much variation do you see in PQ from channel to channel??

Can anyone comment if this inconsistancy between the channels, and even same channel hour to hour exists on the "other" satellite provider (D*****)??? I have heard that both use sometimes excessive compression, but if the variance is less on one of them.....................

I don't know. But I do know that the overall average picture quality is lower from D*.

So if you are looking for consistent mediocrity, then they may be your ticket.

That seems to be the general opinion. I have freinds that have D*****, but its hard to judge PQ when they have a vcr, dvd burner and God knows what else hooked up between the Sat receiver and the TV. I would love to see a side by side, same TV, same cables, same channel.

Well - one thing just made me feel better about my picture quality - the Avia calibration disc, man were my settings WAY off!

I have had both E* and D* there are soft channels on both.The only difference is
the programming and the receivers.
