HR20-700 with no sound on all HD channels

I upgraded my Directv system to HD DVR and they sent me the HR200-700. The picture is awsome! but the only problem is on all HD channels there is video and no sound. all other channels have sound. I contacted DTV they told me to get a service call. Can someone tell me what it is so I dont have to spend the money for someone to come out and tell me. I think its the reciever. any ideas?

I've had this happen on an older Mpeg-2 receiver but haven't seen it since I've upgraded to the H20's. Try changing your audio options by turning off Dolby Digital & see if you get sound on the HD's. It would only happen every so often but it did temporally fix the sound on the HD's (70 through 79).
If it's a new receiver I would think a free replacement would be in order.

Need more info, you've got a HR 20-700, what type of connection are you using ?
HDMI or component, or are you trying to use a audio system as well ?

I knew it. Same tv maker as me. You need to change your audio output in the HR20.

how and which one do you switch to?

Go into you receiver output in turn your Dolby digital to off.

Correct; your TV likely only knows how to handle 2.0 chnl audio so why have multi-chnl audio on?
