I signed up about a week ago as "TheCaptain" and have still not received a confirmation email.

Can you please look into this and see what needs to be done.

I too thought that I never got a confirmation email when I first signed up, but I found it 48-72 hours later in my bulk mail folder. The filters flagged it as spam. *shrug*
