...or will the new user get to keep all my old content?

Since it's largely filled with documentaries I could imagine someone finding it to be desirable.

It's the VIP 922...given that I have 2 or 3 hard drives filled with content and since it's ultimately content licensed to single use and therefore not duplicated, but transferred, there's no legal reason not to sell it as such.

Anyone know an answer to this?

Internal drive content will remain intact and usable if you sell the receiver. External hard drives and content on them are locked to your account and not transferable.

And good luck finding a buyer for a ViP922. I suspect the going rate is quite low.

Whatever they're worth is what they're worth. People get too emotional about the FMV of their electronics; whatever you can replace them for is what they're worth...and what you can buy it back for if you have remorse that it's not longer in your "inventory." The loss of value happened at the rate it depreciates.

:) Some people might like the media on it.

Wouldn't the content on the internal hard be unusable as well if receiver is transfered to a different account?

Edit. Read that wrong. The internal drive contents are still usable if its sold. Dish just activates the receiver, its not wiped or anything unless its returned to dish and refurbished

You two are saying two different things. Programs on the internal hard drive should remain intact and able to be viewed.

what is the difference between ViP 722K vs. DuoDVR 625?
