1. I have an old dish on the roof should the tech at the very least check the LNB?

2. What's a customary tip for the installer?

I've had installs with Directv, Comcast, Dish who were good and also lazy as heck.

The installer can likely tell from the ground if the roof dish is suitable for the current Dish receivers or not. Is it from a previous Dish multi-satellite installation? No need to check anything if it isn't...
