Installers here ! Quick question.

I live in the Memphis DMA. What sattelite's do I need to see for the Platinum HD Package. I currently have a 500 looking at 110 & 119 and another 500 looking at 61.5. I get strong signals. Can I just leave these pointed the way they are or will I need to point the wing dish to 129?

Wing dish needs to be pointed to 129, your installer hopefully knew that. And good luck with your install.

Are you really sure? The reason I ask is because 129 is just mirroring off of the 61.5 sat. I understand that in the future I may have to re-point the wing dish but do I have to now when I get a strong signal on 61.5 and 129 is iffy?

Thanks for the input guys ! When this is all over with, I'll let ya'll know how it came out. Having two DPP44's installed along with other components. Being treated as a brand new install since I've been with dish for so long and the current system is like a Frankenstein monster up in the attic.

You can leave it at 61.5 but down the road if E* ever gets HD LIL for Memphis area, you are going to have to swing the dish over to 129. I was just trying to save you from having to move the dish in the long run, but who knows when if ever Memphis HD Locals get put up by E*. As others have said, you can leave it at 61.5 since there is no HD LIL for you yet.

How did it turn out? You had a DNSC tech in memphis, right? We were all over mississippi and arkansas today. I got to go to alligator and clarksdale. YAY!

new install

have a new install this sunday 3/26. i live in south florida and want to know what i need to know. getting the new 211 receiver and the hd package. what kind and how many antenna am i going to need? any other info in advance would be appreciated.
