I know this has been discussed before, but how does one figure this out?
Is there a coverage map available somewhere? How do I know what arc am I pointing to?

Des Moines is western arc and your HD locals are on 129W and SD locals on 110W. In Des Moines, the WA points generally SW and the EA generally SE. You can use dishpointer.com to see the exact angle from your home.

My son lives in Ankeny and has just one dish for the HD locals. It is now on 129.

The List! (this link goes directly to 61.5) shows DM HD locals as being on both 61.5 and 129. I'd considered asking for a 61.5 wing before Dish lit them up on 129.
