is it worth it for internet streaming music?

Hi,
my station XM31 the Torch is going off the sats on 4/17 and I will only be able to hear it online. I wanted to be able to record it so I can take it with me. Just how bad will the sound quality be if I record music off the internet stream?

Not very good. Have you listened to the actual stream yet? That's as good as it can get. If you find the stream to be acceptable, just make sure you record at a slightly higher bitrate than the original stream. This will help (but not prevent) additional distortions due to the re-encoding into MP3/whatever you choose.
