OK, have quite the setup here. I'm looking to add PVR functionality to it in some respect, but I have a feeling it's impossible.

HD coming in:
E* 811 through DVI (AT100 + HD)
Cablevision SA4200HD through component (mostly for the broadcasts, and the weirdo HD channels they have (inHD, MSG, FSNY)

Ok, so I think I can say that I'll never get HD recording from both sources without weirdo cable switching, thus royally messing up the guide, thus making it non-automatic.

Options:
921 for E* and OTA. Nice, but marries me to E* (mostly due to WAF)

522. non-HD. Yuck

Some type of PC DVR solution. Most flexible, but unproven and probably flaky. Not to mention the PC in the TV room usual fun :)

Tivo. Would work for non-HD. Cheap. Proven. But...non-HD, and thus, suckage. :)

Anyone have any ideas? Feel like I'm stuck...

What about a D-VHS or DVD recorder

Would be nice, but... neither of my STB's nor my TV have firewire, which appears to be a big player in the DVD/D-VHS space. I'm assuming that locks a lot of things out...

811 Caller ID Doesn't work

HD in the box is going back.... got a new tv
