I've got some problems here...

Hi, I've been having problems getting my second receiver to work.

My main one is a DP311 and the second is a DP301. The second one will work sometimes and others will not find a signal. I've browsed this forum and have tried various things like a switch test, but I saved it after it said it had found fewer satellites and now the second receiver isn't detecting any switch box. I figured it might be a connection problem, but everything seems hooked up fine. Also, it now only searches for "default" satellite when acquiring the signal instead of 119 and 110 as it did before (I'm guessing because of the switch test). I tried customer service but that didn't go anywhere...

Anybody have any suggestions or ideas? I'm pretty new to this stuff.

Have you tried bringing the receiver into the room where you have the 311 to see if it will work in there?

How is the 301 connected to the dish? Who did the install? First thought is a splitter was used seeing it isn't seeing a switch.

How old is the install?
How long has it been happening?
What are the signal levels on the rec that does work?
What does the check switch screen say when you do save it?

301s are being phased out so you should be able to get it replaced easily.
