Karen Gillan announced as companion for 11th Doctor

The BBC has announced that Scottish actress Karen Gillan is to play the new companion, alongside Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith, in the next series of Doctor Who.

She actually starred in a prior episode (did she die in that episode --- cannot remember). By the looks of the picture though, its seems like a completely different character.

With that being said ... I just watched the Easter special and I really enjoyed Michelle Ryan as a companion, I had my fingures crossed even ... oh well.

Interesting, as long as this doesn't end up an episode of Dawson's creek

I do like the look of her, wonder if she'll also have a rough/firey attitude (yes, I know I'm stereotyping red-heads.)
