Last & Next HD DVD Watched

Last: Terminator2: Judgment Day...
That is the movie that started this hidef on optical disc race...
With the WMV-HD Extreme edition.

It was Microsoft first public showing of their WMV format in its hidef incarnation.
And they got access to a better master and Cameron himself as a consultant...
And although it can hardly hold a candle to today's best BD transfers, at the time
it was released it handily beat the D-VHS version of the movie while using lower bitrate...

It was the first using server authorization for playback (abandoned shortly after).
It was also the first HD movie that was ripped of the disc using a Japanese version of WMP v.9...

It will always retain its special place in the hidef revolution of the last 10 years!

This one should probably be locked since HD-DVD... Yes I have some HD-DVDs (about 70) and I still watch them from time to time, but red world is pretty much out of date...

I can still make my own HD DVD readable discs (or Blu ray), With all the Java & other infestations on todays Blu rays, my old Toshiba D1 loads a HD DVD faster than my Panasonic or Sony Blu ray players can load one of today's titles...

Now that you have the popcornhour to watch all your ripped HDDVDs you will probably rewatch a lot of them...

Are you converting them to Blu-ray or just putting them on HDD?
