Leaving for Comcast, hope to come back someday...

You're in for a real treat with the Motorola 6412 DVR. Oh yes, indeed.... :)
the 6412 is clunky and slow, but i think the upcoming tivo software will greatly improve 6412 performance
the 622 is nice but in my opinion the hr20 is the cats meow of all dvr's
and i have owned a lot of diff dvr's

but everyone entitled to own opinion

when your promo for cable ends call them and threaten to go back to sat, then magically you be elidigable for the cable promo price at least thats my guess

Enjoy nat geo hd on regular hd tier instaed of having at250 plus hd with *ISH!

No doubt. It's a pure POS! Slow, lacks features, needs replaces every 3 or 4 months, remote sucks,...etc., etc.

True, the 6412 is far from the best DVR out there, but it is far from being a POS. I've had the same 6412 PIII box for over two years now, and it has worked flawlessly. Plus, I'm paying only $6 a month to rent it, which is what both D* and E* charge merely for the "privilege" of being able to use the DVR function, in addition to other charges. HD PQ on my cable system is better than on DISH, and I only keep DISH around for the few Voom channels I like to watch.
