It was not easy trying to find a proper title, I mean he DID reject the extention offer...and he IS not willing to resign until AFTER the season is done....

Hmmmm.....

No extension? LeBron keeping his 'options open'

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - LeBron James is unlikely to accept a contract extension from the Cleveland Cavaliers until after the 2009-10 season, when he can become a free agent.

At an event to unveil his latest signature sneaker for Nike, James, who has given no indication he plans to leave the Cavs, made his strongest comments yet about his future. The NBA's reigning MVP said he signed a three-year contract in 2006 with an option so he would have more flexibility once it expires.

"I signed a contract in 2006 with an option," he said. "It would make no sense for me to sign that contract if I didn't keep my options open. I'll let you fill in the blanks."

The Cavaliers offered James a contract extension last month. The 24-year-old said his agent, Leon Rose, and Cavs general manager Danny Ferry have had "a great conversation."

James doesn't expect his future to be a distraction for the Cavs, who acquired All-Star center Shaquille O'Neal this offseason.

How many times are we going to talk about this? I could care less who he signs with personally. I quit caring about players staying with their teams their whole career a long time ago. I understand that some people want to discuss it, but 10 different threads about the same thing is getting old.

I think it IS news when an extention was offered and NOT signed....

...just like When Wade litterally demanded that the Heat be a more competitive team BEFORE the end of the 2009-2010 season...and the HEat have done just about nothing....

This isn't news, who really expected him to sign an extension now?? He was actually offered the extension last month, so this must be a filler story.

If he signed the extension, now THAT would be news!!

Start spreading the news
I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it
New york, new york

These vagabond shoes
Are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it
New york, new york

I wanna wake up in the city
That doesn't sleep
And find I'm king of the hill
Top of the heap

This little town blues
Are melting away
I'll make a brand new start of it
In old new york

If I can make it there,
I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you,
New york, new york

New york, new york
I wanna wake up in the city
That never sleeps
And find I'm a number one,
Top of the list,
King of the hill, a number one...

These...little town.... blues
Are...melting away,
I gotta make a brand new start of it
In old new york

And if I can make it there,
I'm gonna make it anywhere
I'ts up to you,
New york, new yoooooooooork...
New yooork.

He has an "option" to resign under the same terms or not accept it and instead sign a new contract for a much higher salary. This has nothing to do with him with his prospects of signing with different team. The Cavs can offer him a new contract instead of the 1 year option already in his current contract. Duh....

BTW, since when did KCK morph into the sites most annoying troll? I lost a lot of respect for you these last few weeks bro. You disappoint me...

WHY is it that the moment someone disagrees with you....you (not you HD, but people disagreeing in general) are either considered a "troll" or something similar....? I mean ESPN thought is was major enough to be the 1st STORY in yesterday's 6:00pm Sportscenter and even mentioned LOCALLY down here because of what is going on with Miami Heat's lack of off season activity and the possibility of losing Wade.

Disagreeing is fine. I welcome it actually. I like having educated discussions. Singing a tune to stir the pot is another story. KCK knows exactly what he did and I called him out on it.

HDMM,
There is PLENTY of time before something will happen.
He will change his mind many times between now and then, just like any other highly sought after star.

I posted those lyrics AFTER a very APPROPRIATE quote by the man we all consider to be your very own BFF after your love letters written to him here!

And if you are so short-sighted and being such a Pollyana as to what is going on around you then you need someone to shake you and wake you up to reality! You are really, truly living in a bubble. I wasn't sure about it up till now but you have truly, honestly convinced me. Stay in it dude cause it's a cruel, cruel world out there!!!!!!!

Called me out? :p:rolleyes: I'd take this further but it would be considered flaming and I won't go there.
