Maybe the CBC should ask Lifetime networks to strive to achieve more racially diverse programming, as it seems only 2 of the 22 regular shows on Lifetime have black characters, one of those being a MAN! GASP!

THANK you! While Oxygen runs two Black sitcoms. The CBC should really shut up about this since Lifetime has like not even CLOSE to represented Black people in their programming.

Since Dish and DirecTV are licensed by the FCC they do have some rules to abide by. This situation is not covered by any of them.

I kind of wonder why Charlie didn't go to the CBC first. Maybe he could have got them to tell Lifetime to make the programming available to Dish viewers again at a reasonable price.

To be a little more precise - the government can't MAKE them do anything in this situation. Lifetime is free to sell its programming to whomever they wish at whatever price they think they can get. Likewise, Dish is not required to carry any channel on their system, except they must reserve a certain percentage of their bandwidth on each satellite position for public interest channels.

I'd bet that the Pentagon channel and RFD-TV get ratings near those of Lifetime.
