linking the remote

Just got my 922 and having trouble linking the remote.I tried pushing the sat button.but it does not do anything.can someone show me step by step instructions.this book sucks for the 922.

Press menu twice. When the system info screen comes up hit sat on the remote

Did you wait until the 922 was fully loaded with software and guide info before putting in the remote batterys?

yes I did.where that one they showed with the sliding like a mouse on a laptop.

I linked my remote before the software update and it caused the remote to get stuck and it would not link again. Dish had to send me a new remote.
