Looking for Advice on Getting Upgrade

We have recently upgraded all of our tvs to HD. Does anyone have any advice on how to get Direct (who we have been with for over 8 years) to give us the free hd, hddvr, and receiver upgrades new customers receive? If Direct does not work with us I am prepared to switch to Dish. Thanks for any advice!

Have you tried calling? See what they will offer. If you don't like it, you can talk to retention. They may give you what you want, especially since you say you are willing to go elsewhere.

they may not go DVR, but they should go HD based on incompatibility

If you are not under contract you're very likely to get a good deal. Call and get to retention by saying cancel at voice prompts. Those folks will make the best deal possible.
