Lose 10% of channels, get 1% rebate

We should be getting at least a $5.00 credit ($4.00 for the 10 channels and $1.00 for CBS local. I'm emailing DISH to let them know.

Agreed... And to the OP, keep in mind that not all channels are created equal. We pay over $2 a month per subscriber for ESPN.

The Viacom channels are worth more than $1 to me. They are worth probably about $5.

Only getting a $1 rebate for the Viacom channels must mean that either Dish pays a lot more for the other channels (no wonder why Viacom would want more when they have some of the mainstream channels) or Dish is not wanting to reimburse us what we are charged for the channels, but perhaps the wholesale cost still keeping the profits from themselves (maybe because they plan on replacing them with other channels).

Or as it actually turned out, Charlie suspected the channels would likely be out for hours, not a whole month. $2 to lose CBS and the Viacom cable channels for a month sounded like a bad deal for us subs. But $2 for less than two days seems more than fair.
