Fir the second week in a row on Tuesday or early Wednesday, I have lost my guide data on a 722. I'm missing guide data from now on and the dvr has misssed some recordings due to this. Also I had an instance of the dvr recording a show for 5 hrs even though it was only a half hour program. Any ideas?

This has happened to me three times on my 622, the most recent being last week. Each time, it's happened to very few or no other people, at least amongst users here. Other times it's happened to other people but not to me.

You can sometimes force it to clean itself up by rebooting the receiver, then running the "check switch" routine in the setup menu. But it may still take a few hours to clean out the bogus timer events after the guide repopulates. In fact, this last time it happened, I'm still getting timer events for reruns when they're supposed to be for new shows only, on shows that have full descriptions, episode numbers, and original air dates.

I've rebooted, what's the check switch thing? My guide has what's on now and what's on in an hour and nothing after that. When time goes by the stuff pops in but only when the show is on. So, it is skipping recording everything.

Menu-6-1-1-Check Switch

It reloads the available satellites list, so it also reloads the guide in case you're getting different channels than you did on the antennas that you supposedly re-aimed.

The "2-hour guide" is really the next 2 programs and comes from more of the satellites.
Sometimes you can force a reload by moving far enough to the right in the 8-day guide.
It's always a good thing to check your guide after a manual or forced reboot.
I just did this and got the 2-show guide but leaving it there say 30 sec and it filled in.
