Marvel Television's Ironheart - Disney+

Surprisingly, it was better than I expected. I liked it.
I read one of the "Marvel needs to drop TV and concentrate on Movies" reviews and they were less than kind. I'm not expecting too much, so we'll see.

Ironheart is a fast and furious business. Like Ms Marvel, it is clearly aimed at the younger end of the fan spectrum and the pace is relentless, as if the makers are desperate not to give the audience a second to look away. In keeping with the YA vibe, there is much weight given to loyalty and friendship rather than romance or sex, no swearing, and plenty of flashy effects and cartoonish violence involving a lot of people being thrown against a lot of walls.

Probably sums it up pretty good.

Yeah, I compared it to Ms. Marvel with a friend as well - it's not really made 'for me' as a 46 year old white male. My kids would probably really enjoy if it they watched it, but I appreciated it for what it was and the 3rd episode in particular really got things going.

Looking forward to the final 3. I expect I'll agree with another brief review that I saw that said they wish episodes 1-7 were covered in the first 3, and then we got several episodes with 'everything all of the characters become'. Like so many, this comes across as yet another origin tale, and it is and has to be for some of these guys.

For those not familiar with The Hood (I knew of him, but not a lot about him), some info and then some speculation about what we could get by the end of this:

Well, remember all the 'it has to be Mephisto! in all the other TV shows that it became a meme? The Hood's powers come from Mephisto, so it's possible we could see him actually introduced, since they're making that a plot line of the story this far. It's been believed for a while that Mephisto has been cast but never outright confirmed by Marvel: Sacha Baron Cohen.

Actually thought they stuck the landing on this. It picked up at 3 and really enjoyed the finale. In part because....

They did the thing! After Dormammu misdirections in earlier episodes we got an entire episode of Sacha Baron Cohen's Mephisto, and he was great.

Wasn't The Hood the Big Bad in the Marvel TV "Iron Fist" series on Netflix? I'm probably remembering that wrong…

Ah, thank you, Internet. The name of that Big Bad was "The Hand". Missed it by two letters!

I watched the first three episodes after watching "Wakanda Forever!" I have been enjoying it and waiting for the next episode(s) to drop tonight.

Yep, the group of evil assassins that shape world politics to their benefit, who were finished off in The Defenders mini-series.

In the comics, they were originally just a group of ninja assassins.
