I have a few months left on my contract with Dish. Sold my house faster than I thought and now my new house will not be ready for 4 or 5 months. Called Dish to see if I could suspend my account until then. CSR said no because I'm still under contract, but suggested to lower my package. I said no because that would cost more than canceling the service. The CSR said okay then cancel. I find it surprising that Dish would rather loose a customer than loose a few bucks. Anyway, I told the CSR to hold off I would call back. The question is, is this a loosing battle? Should I still try and get the suspension on my account? I will not pay for service I can't watch for 4 months.

Call back and request a seasonal hold, this puts your billing at $5 a month, if the next csr is prickish then ask to talk to someone with some actual authority.
