METV Toon is Coming June 30th!

All of the Weigel networks originate in 720p via fiber/IP. The satellite feeds are more of a backup and for 3rd party affiliates that for whatever reason can't ingest the IP feeds.

At last check, Movies is their only network where the only way to watch in HD is via streaming on Frndly, Fubo and Philo. The rest have at least one market carrying them in HD OTA.

On another Weigel Broadcasting Company note. This forthcoming new channel is rumored to start broadcasting later this year. No idea as to what kind of time frame is involved for it. It is supposed to broadcast classic western TV series 24/7, once it is uplinked and available to the public.

I guess Weigel Broadcasting saw what their rival, Free TV Networks, was doing, and thought, "Maybe we could also start a competing 24/7 Western channel of our very own..."

Cartoons should only be on sd in 4:3. By that I don't mean overcompressed, smeared digital sd.

Weigel's affiliation agreements require their networks to be delivered in 16:9 to viewers
The Broadcaster's video aspect ratio must be 16x9, regardless of SD or HD format.

While the older cartoons are mostly pillarboxed SD upconverts, the hosted segments on shows like Toon in with Me and the custom bumpers are natively produced in HD.

I'm still not happy with Weigel's choice to do away with the Decades channel. I enjoyed watching a pretty good bit of the programming that was on that channel. When they flipped the switch to the comedy stuff on that channel, I never tuned in to it again.
