Most people "move" to a bigger market. Anyone ever "move" to a smaller one?

I just want to see how often it happens in this scenario. Any Dish customers who are browsing this thread are welcome to answer too (just mention that you have Dish ).

I've "moved" to the Salisbury, MD market. The bonus of this is that I found a town to move to (Secretary, MD) that gets both the Salisbury and Baltimore locals. As a bonus, also channel 64 from Seaford, DE, which simulcasts WHYY from the Philly market.

I moved to NewBerry Michigan once. Right next to a Burger King.

Got all the distant networks

I had a customer who moved on the other side of the Burger King.

We would always joke saying “it’s so nice living in new berry”

Here is something crazy. Dish used to have Grand Rapids locals in the clear on the 148 satellite about 13 years ago.

I setup a dish pointing towards 148 with a 10 degree elevation.

Had a free to air receiver set on the ABC affiliate in Grand Rapids and ran it through a modulator to put the channel on 41 which was the same as the off air frequency.

Had that ran into my TIVO to record it as an OTA channel setup as a secondary market.

Why you ask?

Because the ABC affiliate in Grand Rapids had Star Trek showing every night and I wanted to DVR it.

All legal because dish didn’t have the channels encrypted.

I remember that and a ppv channel used to be in the clear also.

The Baltimore stations you are receiving are considered significantly viewed, that's why you get them. You aren't really getting locals from two dmas, not technically anyways. I get a few from NYC even though I'm in the Hartford dma.
