HELP!!
Tried everything but nothing has fixed this problem. My motor doesn't move and everytime I do a reset it goes to 0 and then moves all the way east. what's up with that. I can move it with the manual buttons, but it only moves one degree and stops - I can't hold it down to move it continuously.

Also, the light blinks from green to orange every second.
any help appreciated.

I have a sg2100 motor

What receiver and what sat is it tuned to. The motor moves where the receiver tells it to go!
Orange LED indicates motor is receiving a command from the receiver. This a new setup or exiting?

I was working for a few months. Then it just stopped working. Motor doesn't respond to any commands from receiver. (captiveworks 800s) I've tried everything I can think of. I've reset the receiver, did a factory default, reset the motor, bought a new diseq switch. Nothings worked. whats weird is when i reset the motor, it goes back to 0, but immediately after that it goes all the way to the east. The motor moves when i press the manual buttons, but not continuously. It only moves one degree and then the light goes orange. If i do nothing, the light flashes between green and orange.

it's not tuned to any sat now as i did a factory default and don't have any channels programed and can't get it to move to a sat.

THINKING -- No sats - no south sat so box thinks E/W = 0 is the place to go.... I am probably wrong but -- old logic controls did work that way. We had to be sure to put satellites into the receiver before powering up the dish or the motor could rip it of the mount.

Are you moving the dish back to the '0' position before pushing reset? Also, after resetting the motor, power the receiver off (via the rear switch) then back on. If that fails, perform a factory reset on the receiver as well.

I agree with the folks above.
Set up the receiver first, factory default, make sure motor control is disabled, disable east-west limits, and then setup true south sat. Also disable all switch settings.
Now out to the motor to do a reset, use button and goto 0 deg. push reset button for 3
seconds and then power switch off on receiver. If that doesn't work, you will have to start
swapping out parts, eliminate the switches at the dish first. Did you have a storm go thru
your area?

I'll give it a shot and post back.

Could it be because I don't have it grounded. I installed it in the dead of winter and planned on grounding it when the weather got nicer.

Grounding helps to protect your house from a lightening strike. ( Its primary purpose).
It will also help bleed off static electricity buildup from high winds and lightening activity in
the localized area. (this will help to protect the switches and motor). System protection from
the elements is a major project and little understood, most people won't go there.

haven't had a chance to get on the roof yet BUT I was bored and started playing around with the receiver and got it working again. as far as i can tell, i changed the "diseq" setting to "none" and it started working. it also appears that the motor doesn't move when i have the transponser setting to one that is not gettin a signal from the sat its aiming at. does that make sense?

Okay, I think it's the motor. I just did a reset and the motor went all the way east and past the number 80 and continued until it started grinding and finally stopped. Its like it was trying to continue to go further than it was even designed to go. Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks

I had basically the same problem with a brand new sg 2100 motor; this is the motor that doesn't have the reset hole. I sent my motor back under warranty; they had to replace the circuit board, the limit switches and the main gear. I spoke with the tech by phone and he told me he couldn't get it to work either. He stated that he has seen a few of these with the same problem, if your motor is still under warranty I would send it back. Hope this helps.
